Foot Reflexology

Foot reflexology can be a deeply relaxing and therapeutic modality for young and old.

Reflexology is a type of massage during which pressure is applied onto particular areas of the soles of the feet. According to Chinese medicine, the sensory nerves of the internal organs flow throughout the body and are particularly potent in the soles of the feet. Manipulation of specific areas of the feet stimulates a reflex action in associated body parts. Therefore the massage is effective in stimulating the functions of the internal organs.

I also use the reflexology zones as a diagnostic tool to gauge whether organs are in balance or distress.

Not only internal organs are reflected in the feet, but also the skeleton. It is possible to make structural adjustments through the feet as well.

These are a few of the benefits of Foot Reflexology:

  • relieve pain and stiffness

  • better blood circulations to internal organs and consequent prevention of sickness or faster healing

  • adjustments of the spine

  • can prevent and treat many symptoms such as headache, stress, asthma, constipation and sinusitis

  • preparation for childbirth

  • enhancing the self-regulatory capacity of the body toward homeostasis.

I earned my diploma as a foot reflexology therapist in Switzerland in 1996.
